Seara de 27 martie a fost dedicata premiilor Jameson Empire 2011, ce au fost decernate in cadrul unei ceremonii plina de clasa la Grosvenor House Hotel, Londra. Evenimentul a fost prezentat de Dara O Briain, comediant irlandez si prezentator tv, acesta fiind al treilea an in care isi asuma inmanarea premiilor.
Pentru al 16-lea an Jameson Empire Awards sunt singurele premii din lumea filmului axate pe voturile fanilor din Marea Britanie. Nominalizarile sunt facute de cititorii revistei Empire, iar voturile sunt date pe situl revistei.
Anul acesta s-a remarcat filmul “Kick-Ass”, care a primit sase nominalizari si a castigat doua premii: “Best British Film” si “Best Newcomer” pentru Chloe Moretz. De asemenea, “The King’s Speech” a primit cinci nominalizari, Colin Firth castigand premiul “Best Actor”, iar filmul “Inception” a primit patru nominalizari, primind premiul “Best Film”.
